What are they and what is their purpose?
The Forain filter elements are designed using a specific combination of media planned for whatever application in which the element is to be utilized.
This custom design guarantees the compatibility as well as, the efficiency of each Forain element.
The filter mat achieved by an exclusive process gives a uniform gradient density to the filter media that provides long life and high particulate retention capacity.
The filter media is placed around a spiral locked metal core, which ensures superior support to resist high differential pressure without collapse and subsequent loss of collected contaminants to the effluent.
The filter element produced by this process guarantees true depth filtration and a gradual differential pressure increase during filter element’s life.
Construction
Forain filter elements are composed of a molded fiberglass tube, which is constructed of graded glass fibers.
These fibers are compressed to the proper density and bonded with inert phenolic blinders.
The fiberglass tube is supported with a heavy-duty, spiral locked center core for superior resistance to collapse.
The standards Forain filter elements will remove particles up to one micron without excessive differential pressure build-up.
The center core is composed of carbon steel and stainless steel.
The spiral is locked with an integral spring.
Forain offers the two following type of media: white cotton and polypropylene.
The outer sock is available in cotton, nylon and polypropylene.
To avoid by-pass, Forain offers for its filter elements equipped with a metal cap.
